M18 battery power levels, by exact SKU

Milwaukee rates M18 packs on a PWR1–PWR5 scale and publishes the figure on individual product pages — but does not publish a consolidated chart. Their own guidance says so plainly:

So this table is assembled from Milwaukee’s own per-product data. Every row links to the manufacturer page it was read from. Where Milwaukee publishes no level, we say so rather than estimating one.

What the power level actually means

Power level and run-time are independent. A higher PWR number means the pack can deliver more power — faster tool speeds and heavier-duty work — while amp-hours describe how long it runs. Two packs can share a power level and differ in run-time, and vice versa.

That is why the energy column is in watt-hours. Watt-hours are amp-hours multiplied by nominal voltage, and they are the only honest way to compare packs of different capacities. Milwaukee publishes amp-hours; the watt-hour figure here is our arithmetic on their number, not a manufacturer claim.

Why one row says “not published”

Milwaukee has not assigned a public power level to every pack. Where they have not, this table leaves it blank. Other comparison charts fill that gap with an estimate; an estimate presented in a column of manufacturer figures is indistinguishable from one, which is the reason we do not do it.
