Right now, no link on this site earns us anything. We do not currently have affiliate relationships with any retailer, and no page shows prices. We expect that to change, so the policy below is published in advance — and this paragraph is generated from the site’s own configuration, so it cannot say “no commissions” on a day when the pages carry them.

What this does not change

Compatibility answers are derived from manufacturer documentation and reviewed before publication. No retailer, and no commission, influences whether we say a battery works with a tool. That answer is either supported by a cited source or shown as unknown — there is no third state where money decides it.

We do not accept payment for placement, for a favourable answer, or to omit an unfavourable one. If a retailer asked, the answer would be no, and we would say so on this page.

How prices are chosen

Where several retailers stock the same SKU, we show the cheapest one that is in stock — not the one that pays us most. Commission rates differ between retailers, so this will sometimes cost us money. It is the only ordering that is honest, and it is enforced in code rather than left to judgement.

Prices go stale quickly. We show a price only if we have seen it in the last 24 hours, and we show nothing rather than a figure we cannot stand behind. A missing price means we have no current number, not that the item is unavailable. Always confirm the price at the retailer before buying — theirs is authoritative, ours is a recent observation.

How the links are marked

Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored", which is how search engines are told a link is commercial. They open in a new tab and are labelled with the retailer’s name, so you can see where you are going before you click.

Why we tell you this

Because the US Federal Trade Commission requires it where a material connection exists, and because a site whose entire value is a citable evidence trail cannot be coy about who pays it. See also our methodology, privacy page, and corrections policy.
